Position Profile:
This position assures that all areas of the residence are maintained in a clean and odor free condition by operational procedures being followed and resident rights maintained.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Heavy cleaning of all resident residence as assigned by supervisor. (vacuuming, cleaning bathroom, window and walls).
- Clean and sanitize all bathrooms, refills paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap dispensers, and polish bathroom fixtures ensuring water marks are removed.
- Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
- Clean furniture for debris, spots, nicks, etc. and repair/remedy.
- Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, and damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
- Cleaning of all common areas, including dining rooms, and activity/social areas, hallways, breakrooms, and stairways.
- Dusting all furniture, lamps/light fixtures, handrails, baseboards, etc.
- Empty trash. Remove to dumpsters, and process recyclables.
- Clean vacant rooms in preparation for move-ins.
- Uses safe and proper techniques for cleaning/chemical solutions, as well as storage of products, tools and carts.
- Identifies potential maintenance issues and completes work orders.
- Create a safe, loving, and homelike environment for the Residents.
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.

With respect to resident rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for residents, reports all complaints made by residents and or families to supervisor, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property, or any other compliance items immediately.
May be requested to work on shifts other than the one for which you were hired and subject to call-back during emergency conditions.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information about residents, family, employees, and IPH residence.
Must enjoy working with the senior population.
Perform job duties in a manner that aligns with the IPH mission of providing a gracious senior living in a Christian surrounding.
Demonstrate good interpersonal teamwork and communication skills.
Education:
Must possess a High School diploma or a GED.
Physical Demands:
Capable of walking long distances, lifting, and carrying weight up to 40 lbs. and push/pull 100 lbs.
Must be able to work around hazardous chemicals wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
Must be able to operate equipment safely and effectively.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
