The Goshen News, an award-winning daily newspaper in northern Indiana, seeks a versatile, motivated journalist to join its newsroom team as a night desk journalist. The desired candidate must have strong writing abilities, well-honed editing skills, knowledge of AP style, and experience with NewsEditPro and TownNews software. They will also have a firm grasp of evolving trends in multimedia and social networks as well as superior organizational skills. Weekday work shifts will run from 1 : 30 p.m. until 10 : 30 p.m., but could vary slightly depending on workload and breaking news. Occasional weekend shifts may be required. This position will involve both writing and editing.
Desired qualifications for this newsroom position include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and at least two years of editing / reporting experience at a daily newspaper. Knowledge of newspaper design is preferred.
