The Journal-Courier in Jacksonville, Illinois, is looking for a community-minded sports writer who can also take photos and shoot video as needed.
We cover some of the best small-school teams in the state, along with two Division III colleges, and a variety of sporting events and activities in central Illinois.
The ideal candidate will be someone able to come up with enterprise news and feature stories that go beyond the scheduled games and can also take compelling photos and sometimes shoot and edit video to accompany print copy.
Responsibilities :
- Write enterprise news and feature stories.
- Take compelling photos and shoot / edit video.
- Engage with social media and web platforms for sourcing and reader engagement.
