Ophthalmic Technician and Scribe

Illinois Retina Associates was established in 1976 and is the leading practice devoted to diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina, macula and vitreous in the Chicagoland area. We have 12 office locations to provide excellent service to our patients close to their home. We are looking to add to our clinical team in Lincoln Park. The right candidate will have experience in a medical office and a working knowledge of medical terminology. Ophthalmic Assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ocular surgical and medical history
• Vision screening, pressure & other ocular evaluations
• Diagnostic testing
• Medical scribing and providing assistance to physician in the exam room
• Surgical scheduling
• Ophthalmic scanning and testing
• Inventory and ordering
• Equipment/instrument care

Skills

• Customer service skills required
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Education/Certification

• CPR certification is required
• Medical Assisting degree or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA/COT) is desirable

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
