The Tollway is a user-fee system – no state or federal tax dollars are used to support maintenance and operations. Operations are funded by toll and concession revenues.

Under the leadership of the Board of Directors and Executive Staff, the Tollway is committed to achieving the following goals: increase collaboration with regional transportation and planning agencies, promote the regional economy, maintain financial integrity, foster environmental responsibility and sustainability, maintain the safety and efficiency of the Tollway system, further transparency, and accountability, enhance customer service, and maintain public trust.

In support of this vision, the Field Operations Supervisor reports directly to the IT Network Manager. The Field Operations Supervisor coordinates the activities of the Field technicians to ensure the orderly flow of assignments throughout the Field Operations Unit. This role must be knowledgeable of different aspects of the telecommunications field. Will assist in repairs or any maintenance as required by the situation to safeguard the uninterrupted operation of the Authority's Data network, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare and maintain Field tech schedules, assign work, and track ongoing problems to ensure timely resolution by the Field techs.
  • Maintain building alarm systems, access control system, security cameras and other systems across the Tollway infrastructure.
  • Coordinates, implements, and monitors preventative maintenance policies and procedures used to maintain the Authority's communications network.
  • Submits to Manager any documentation for any needed equipment purchases.
  • Maintains proper control of inventory including various spare parts.
  • Maintain a record of all network cable certification testing performed for or by the Tollway.
  • Arrange equipment moves between sites when needed.
  • Must respond to communications emergencies on a 24 hour/7 day per week basis.
  • Develops and trains technicians to keep them current with the latest applicable techniques and guidelines used on Authority equipment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education (Required)
  • An Associate degree from an accredited college in Electronic Technology.

Skills & Experience (Required)
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in management, security cameras, alarm systems, badge readers, cabling systems, data communications, AC & DC power systems, UPS/ back-up battery systems, and tower lighting and maintenance.
  • Must have a significant understanding of network cabling standards.
  • Possess knowledge of test equipment to diagnose cabling problems.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based systems, word processing and spreadsheet applications is required
  • Good interpersonal skills, and familiarity with team leader or supervisory concepts.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.

Other Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • The incumbent will be required to work overtime when necessary and occasionally during off hours.
