Position Available: Sociology Instructor, Part-Time for Fall 2025
The Division of Humanities, Fine Arts, and Social Sciences at IVCC is seeking an instructor to teach one or more in-person or online classes in Sociology, beginning August 2025. Courses may be 16 weeks or 12 weeks, in-person or online. In-person classes may be held at the main campus in Oglesby, IL, at the extension campus in Ottawa, IL, or as a Dual Credit class at an in-district high school. Online classes will be administered through the LMS platform D2L-Brightspace.
Qualifications Required: Master's degree in Sociology required OR Master's degree in a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Sociology. Graduate coursework must be from an accredited college/university. Previous teaching experience in higher education is preferred. Experience or familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred. Availability to teach courses in various modalities (In-Person, Blended, Online, Dual Credit) and at various locations (main campus, extension sites, in-district high schools). Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the community college.
Salary: $32.25 per hour or $688.00 per credit hour
