Duties & Responsibilities
- Kitchen Maintenance • Maintain kitchen facilities in accordance with University standards for food preparation sites. • Clean, sanitize, and store serving equipment after all meals and snacks. • Maintain CDL storage and supply areas (equipment and food stuffs) in clean and orderly condition. • Maintain food preparation equipment in a clean and operating condition. • Maintain a current inventory of kitchen supplies, equipment, and bulk-item food stuffs. • Supervise kitchen use and clean up by CDL teachers and researchers using the facilities. • Complete any other related duties as assigned.
- Food Preparation • Prepare daily snacks for all classes in the assigned facility – cooking is limited to snack type food and will not involve whole meal preparation. • Set-up trays for serving all snack and lunch meals. • Prepare food for special CDL events as requested. • Participate with program coordinator in menu planning for snacks. • Provide direction to student staff who are providing assistance to or substituting for kitchen staff.
- Laundry/ Fabric Repair & Sewing • Launder on a regular basis (i.e., weekly) art smocks, towels, cot sheets, doll clothes, and other items used in CDL classrooms. • Maintain laundry facilities and equipment in a clean and operating condition. • Maintain an inventory of items that are laundered (e.g., cot sheets, towels, etc.). • Mend all repairable items (e.g., cot sheets, doll clothes, etc.). • Assist teachers with classroom projects that require light sewing.
- Professional Development
• Participate in professional development activities as specified in DCFS licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
