Duties & Responsibilities
Manages all laboratory activities including onboarding and scheduling undergraduate student researchers, maintaining shared laboratory calendars, grants management, and purchasing, compliance, and scheduling equipment service and repair.
Inventory: manages selecting, purchasing, storing and allocating laboratory equipment and supplies
Compliance and inspections: oversees safety and security of lab facilities, including knowledge of and management of IACUC, DRS, and biosafety protocols, and laboratory inspections
Liaison to units and HR to manage undergraduate and graduate student appointments as well as other personnel matters.
Transgenic rat colony management: Maintain records on colony lineage, set up breeding pairs and monitor pregnancy status, weaning, ear tagging, and genotyping (tail digestion, PCR, gel electrophor)
