Position Overview:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Office of Inspector General, Bureau of Internal Affairs is seeking to hire a highly capable, experienced, and detailed oriented investigations professional to serve as a Supervisor of Investigations. The ideal candidate for this role will have supervisory experience in investigations, preferably related to internal investigations, employee misconduct, government programs, and healthcare.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgement in the identification of priorities, to proactively address issues, and ensure the timely completion of all work. The ideal candidate will also exhibit strong leadership skills to achieve set goals while demonstrating independent initiatives. Finally, the ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Function
- Under general direction of the Assistant Bureau Chief, serves as the Supervisor of Investigations for the Office of
Inspector General’s Bureau of Internal Affairs by directing and conducting investigations of highly complex and
controversial cases, with particular emphasis on cases involving agency vendors such as Medicaid providers and
Managed Care Organizations and allegations of fraud, conspiracy, misconduct, and malfeasance of office at higher
levels of agency administration. - Serves as full line supervisor.
- Monitors cases involving larger staff commitments.
- Directs comprehensive executive briefings covering investigative results and makes recommendations to the
Bureau Chief and the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations. - Attends conferences and meetings to plan, develop, and implement new or revised procedures, policies,
legislation, or program affecting the OIG and provides training to staff. - Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated
above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, with major course
work in law, government, liberal arts, history or business or public administration. - Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in law
enforcement investigatory work or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of professional experience conducting internal or employee misconduct investigations.
- Three (3) years of experience conducting healthcare or government program investigations.
- Prefers possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in a field directly related to
the responsibilities of the position. - Two (2) years of professional experience supervising an investigative, compliance, or oversight team.
- Two (2) years of professional experience overseeing and assigning work assignments.
- Two (2) years of professional work experience reviewing investigative reports and work product.
- Two (2) years of professional experience interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, and goals of investigations.
- Two (2) years of professional experience in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Six (6) months of professional experience in the use of communication applications such as WebEx or Microsoft Teams.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to pass a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
- Requires ability to travel statewide in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate,
valid driver's license. - Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop.
