Mixer - 1st shift

Shift: 1st: 4:45am - 3:30pm, Monday - Thursday

Position Summary

Under general supervision of the mixing lead, weighs and blends ingredients as specified on the batch sheets and mixing procedures, for processing on the production lines.

Five Key Accountabilities

• Ensure accurate line set up
• Follow quality and filling specifications
• Achieve productivity standards by partnering with Supervisors
• Coordinate line change over and line clearance
• Work on production line alongside line employees

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure accurate line set up

• Verify all components are accurate and ready for each production order.
• Work with Change Over Technicians to calibrate the production line for each production order.

Follow quality and filling specifications

• Perform in-process checks or audits to confirm the ingredients are prepared and weighed to filling specifications and meet ILLUME quality standards. If relevant, record findings.
• Share line set up, quality and/or filling specifications with team members to ensure consistent adherence to specifications and standards.
• Assist in training new leads and line employees.

Achieve productivity standards by partnering with Supervisors

• Ensure employees are logged into the right shop order.
• Share productivity goals and post/document hourly progress.
• Assist supervisors in set up of line for best workflow and reducing waste.
• Report quantity of units produced for each production order. Issue materials to orders.
• Create and maintain other documentation as needed.

Coordinate line change over and line clearance

• Notify team members to clear the work area of any materials from the previous production run.
• Work with Production and Wicking departments, Change Over Technicians and Material Handlers to set up line for next production run.
• Ensure cleanliness of all designated work areas.

Work on production line alongside employees

• Able to perform any job in the mixing area.
• Identify where help is needed and work in any job to assist team in achieving quality and productivity goals.
• Assist new team members in working with more efficiency by modeling the correct processes and policies.

Skills & Knowledge Required

• Model safe working behaviors and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Comfortable working on computers and with new technology.
• Able to accurately report and enter data.
• Preferred work experience in manufacturing setting.
• Able to communicate effectively with coworkers.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and/or color vision for inspection and/or assembly.
• Must be either willing and/or able to operate a forklift.
• Must be willing to learn how to unload wax tank trucks into bulk wax tanks.

• This role operates in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is loud or moderate.
