The role of the HR Generalist has both strategic and administrative responsibilities and plays a leading role in planning and carrying out important functions, such as handling client grievances, verifications of employment, COBRA approvals, and EDD filings/audits.
The pay range for this position is $28 - $30 per hour.

Responsibilities
General Duties
- Support and monitor the COBRA process, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.
- Prepare and send Verification of Employment (VOE) emails in a timely and accurate manner.
- Respond to Employment Development Department (EDD) claims as required.
Client Grievances
- Promptly address client grievances within a reasonable and appropriate timeframe.
- Provide timely and effective resolution updates to both internal leaders and external clients.
- Conduct regular in-person site visits at each client’s location to assess and resolve concerns.
- Produce and maintain accurate client intake reports and document all grievances in the designated tracking systems.
- Generate monthly grievance summary reports for internal analysis and external distribution as needed.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all client grievances and resolution actions.
- Utilize tracking tools and reporting systems to ensure transparency and accountability in grievance management.
- Deliver clear, professional, and data-driven reports to leadership teams and clients on a regular basis.
Preferred Experience/ Minimum Qualifications
Required:
Required:
- Associate’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a Human Resources or administrative support role.
- Knowledge of COBRA, EDD claims, and general employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HRIS systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related discipline.
- Experience managing employee grievances or conflict resolution processes.
- Prior experience with HR compliance audits and onboarding documentation.
- Familiarity with reporting tools and data analysis for HR metrics.
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
