Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and dedicated School Age Teacher to join our team. This role requires planning, implementing, and supervising age-appropriate activities that promote the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development of children. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of child development, strong communication skills, and the ability to create a supportive and fun learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, educational, and fun lessons and activities.
- Design an environment tailored to children's developmental levels, physical and emotional needs, and current interests.
- Observe and respond to children's needs, intervening when necessary to maintain safety.
- Communicate directly and effectively with children, adjusting interactions to their developmental stage.
- Be available and responsive to children's questions, needs, and requests.
- Encourage and model developmentally appropriate social behavior and expectations.
- Engage with children during activities and routines, providing opportunities to extend their thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and activities to foster social skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, activities, and academic progress.
- Maintain open, regular communication with parents or guardians regarding their child’s progress, behavior, and any concerns.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid Food Handlers Card
- A Negative One-Step TB test result
- Must meet all continued education requirements and NV childcare licensing requirements.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
Physical Requirements
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Must be able to safely lift 15-50 lbs
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
