Role Overview:
Assists licensed electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. Responsible for various tasks, including preparing materials, tools, and equipment, as well as performing basic electrical work under supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help install electrical wiring, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures
- Set-up and dismantle temporary power systems as required for construction projects
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment
- Replace electrical components such as fuses, circuit breakers, and light bulbs
- Maintain and organize electrical tools and materials
- Prepare and carry tools, supplies, and equipment to work sites
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist in testing systems for functionality and safety compliance
- Set-up and clean-up work areas
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in construction or electrical work preferred
Capabilities:
- Collaborating effectively with electricians and other construction team members.
- Clear and concise reporting of progress and problems.
- Showing up on time and following through with assigned tasks.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, often exposed to the natural elements of cold, heat, moisture, and wind.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conducts.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
