IMEG is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Survey Technician 1 in our in our Bozeman office. Survey Technician 1 is an entry-level position in the land surveying team. The Technician will be exposed to providing office production duties of all survey activities to support office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables. The Technician will be responsible for providing survey assistance under leadership from an office Senior Survey Coordinator.

Principal Responsibilities
- Processing data utilizing IMEG CAD standards, including the evaluation of accuracy, all while ensuring compliance with applicable land survey project and professional standards under the direction of your supervisor and a licensed professional.
- Monitoring field crew’s production and providing quality assurance
- Research historical maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports
- Provide survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects
- Preparation of cadastral, existing conditions and platting from field and office data using AutoCAD Civil software
- Carrying out initial QC of field deliverables according to standards and best practices
- Coordinating with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met
- Act as a field technician as requested to complete survey field work
- Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworker
- Observe safety and security procedures
- Work to gain knowledge of survey operations, principles, and practices
- Knowledge of engineering plans and construction documents
- Knowledgeable of office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques
- Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD or similar applications are a plus
- Proficiency in technical math, geometry, and trigonometry is recommended
- Possess basic oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with clients, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG
- Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
- Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
- Associate degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred
- Prior experience in the land surveying, consulting or construction industry is preferred
- Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
- Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
