Role Overview:
The Production Planner position is responsible for planning and releasing work orders to production, optimizing the amount and content of work released to their assigned product lines, and maintaining the planning related data pertinent to their product lines within the ERP system. The Planner is the initial point of escalation for any production expedite requests and will participate in daily meetings regarding the progress of those requests. This individual must have excellent organizational and time management skills as well as production planning experience.

Salary Range $73-$80k
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and disseminate daily basket of work to be released for designated production areas based on component availability and finished goods delivery schedule.
- Assists Production Supervisors and Leads in recording, tracking, and reporting on daily production.
- Assists Production Supervisors and Leads in resolving BOM or Routing issues and accounting for and correcting any inventory inaccuracies.
- Assists Production Supervisors and Leads in identifying any constraints inhibiting the efficient processing and timely completion of work orders.
- Works with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service to prioritize expedite requests and provide order completion status.
- Works with Warehouse Manager to monitor and plan inventory requirements and arrange any special delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to address any unanticipated raw material shortages preventing work orders from being released.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing to address any unanticipated component shortages preventing work orders from being released.
- Drive continuous improvement activities to establish and sustain a Lean culture.
- Other duties as assigned.
Critical Competencies for Success:
- High School degree or equivalent (required) and 2 years of prior experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably, low-volume, high-mix, discrete production, and assembly.
- Four-year degree from an accredited institution in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain (preferred).
- Understanding of inventory control, production, manufacturing, and scheduling principles.
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
- Exceptionally organized with excellent project management, planning, and time management skills.
- Works effectively under pressure and with imperfect information.
