JOB TITLE: Human Resource Assistant
REPORTS TO: Human Resource Manager
SUMMARY
Assists with company-wide day-to-day human resource operations. Provides functional guidance for human resources administrative support needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain employee HR/Payroll Database, new hire processing, new hire data entry, file setup and maintenance.
- Monitor employee data, field communication for missing info, field communication with codes for timesheet.
- Submit New Hire Report.
- Data entry and monitor background checks, forward results to HR Generalist and Manager for adjudication.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- One or more year?s related experience and/or training preferred
- Experience within the Maritime industry preferred
- Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations preferred
- Ability to communicate bilingually in English and Spanish preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Most work performed in office environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
