Adjunct faculty are expected to prepare course materials, teach, grade assignments, and be available to meet with students outside of regularly scheduled classes.
Immaculata University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach in the undergraduate nutrition program in the DPD. Undergraduate courses run both in person and in an online (both synchronous and asynchronous) format over a 15-week period.
Classes to be staffed may include:
- Normal Nutrition (introductory course)
- Introduction to the Dietetics Profession
- Community Nutrition
- Nutrition and Culture
- Foodservice Management
- Nutrition Counseling
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and goals of the program
- Work effectively within the online environment with synchronous and asynchronous sessions
- Enhance course curriculum with current readings and resources
- Facilitate discussion and encourage development of critical thinking about current topics in nutrition and dietetics
- Engage with students during scheduled class sessions, through online discussions, and as needed to support learning
- Assess student learning consistently and responsively
- Respond to students' emails and questions and be available to assist students throughout the course
- Promote the mission of Immaculata University through respectful dialogue and support of each person's potential
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
- Minimum of Master's Degree in Nutrition Science or related field
Preferred Requirements:
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and/or with professional/academic experience consistent with relevant courses
