The Assistant Director of Transfer Articulation assists in the advisement and academic counseling and support of undergraduate students to enable effective navigation of the collegiate experience and successful completion of desired goals. The Assistant Director of Transfer Articulation reports to the Executive Director of the Center for Undergraduate Advising.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advise students in the areas of program requirements, and transfer of credit from other institutions.
- Work with Admissions Office to provide preliminary transcript evaluations for students.
- Evaluate transfer credits from accredited institutions for accepted and current students; solicit departmental approval for course equivalencies as needed.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of new student orientation sessions and initial registrations for new students.
- Proactively support undergraduate students through academic coaching and counseling
- Serve as primary advisor for designated majors.
- Assist in all retention efforts for current and stop-out students.
- Facilitate communication between students, faculty, and University staff.
- Increase awareness among students of the various resources available on campus to ensure academic and personal success and directing them appropriately.
- Be an advocate of and support the University's mission, vision, values, and goals.
- Demonstrate a commitment to all forms of diversity.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3-5 years of experience in higher education. Preferred experience working with adult/non-traditional students.
- Ability to utilize analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills, listening skills. multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of academic programs offered and admission requirements.
- Demonstrable written communication and presentation skills.
- Computer proficiency including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with retrieving, interpreting, and utilizing data, reports or credentials.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Excellent communication skills.
