Specific Duties
- Evaluate residents upon physician order for occupational therapy.
- Provide skilled occupational therapy intervention as described in the treatment plan.
- Attend care conferences as needed to assist in developing and revising the guest/resident care plans.
- Participate in Medicare, admissions, and monthly Rehabilitation Department meetings.
- Work and coordinate with all team members to meet guest/residents’ needs.
- Serve as an integral part of the interdisciplinary treatment team, facilitating a unified approach to guest/resident treatment.
- Ensure occupational therapy programs are regularly updated in a manner which will most effectively benefit guests/residents.
- Train staff members in specific techniques related to each guest/residents’ individual needs.
- Develop restorative programs and train restorative aides to carry out these programs.
- Serve as a consultant of Immanuel Living on relevant issues.
- Work different shifts, including weekends, to provide optimal guest/resident care.
- Clean, process laundry, prepare meals, and complete light maintenance work as required as part of The Retreat’s universally trained positions.
- Work independently, while prioritizing duties and responsibilities, taking on additional assignments, maintaining accuracy and timeliness with documentation, and demonstrating the ability to problem solve.
- Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints from others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
