Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 2nd Shift Leader to oversee operations on the construction site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks. The Shift Leader will play a crucial role in coordinating activities, providing guidance, and fostering a productive work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure process procedures and documents are properly followed and at current revision level. (SOW, PDS, Process Sheet, PCI, labels).
- Trains and leads production team members.
- Assists with qualification process for team members.
- Complete administrative tasks for team as assigned.
- Communicates to team on operation / process changes.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality where sensitive matters are concerned.
- Must be able to read and comprehend all paperwork that is necessary to do the job. Examples: PCI, SOW, Process Sheet, PDS and Visual Work Instructions.
- Ensure products are manufactured according to work instructions and ensure compliance with Quality Standards and that the team accurately reports all paperwork that is required to do the job.
- Ensures team members wear all appropriate safety equipment and follow all company safety procedures.
- Interview and assist in the hiring process for new team members.
- Sustains regular attendance and works overtime when needed.
- Performs all other essential functions assigned by management based on company need.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skill in the proper and safe operation of equipment.
- Skill in reading and writing English sufficient to read the Process Sheet and product description information and write product identification tags.
- Skill in basic mathematical procedures and computation to ensure compliance with order specifications.
- Skill in communications, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
- Maintain a positive atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
- Must be qualified on all operations within the line (primary flex zone).
- Computer skills based on company need.
Skills
- Proficient in using micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
- Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety standards.
- Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with plasma cutting techniques and power tools.
- Strong skills in assembly processes and rigging operations.
- Competent in MIG Welding and soldering techniques.
- Excellent leadership abilities with strong communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
