- Assist the Production Supervisor with planning, scheduling and monitoring the production cycle to determine appropriate staffing within the production cells.
- Assist the Production Supervisor to monitor, train and coordinate daily team activities and workflow.
- Assist employees with resolving issues that impact productivity and production.
- Ensures the efficient movement of product to meet daily production targets of assigned area.
- Applies process specifications governing the production of product within an assigned cell, records production time and quantity data at the cell.
- Performs complex precision assembly in accordance with company procedure and quality guidelines.
- Conducts inspections of own and /or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and /or customer drawing.
- Meets and maintains daily production targets (once fully trained).
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Experience/Background
- 2 years in a role as manufacturing or quality control supervisor and/or team leader preferred
- Experience with testing and analyzing data of electrical components and/or assemblies preferred
- Experience with component assembly operations involving multiple stages preferred
- This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S. person or protected individual within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines U.S. persons and protected individuals as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), U.S. Temporary Resident, Political Asylee or Refugee.
- Experience in planning, scheduling and monitoring production cycles
- Capable of performing complex mechanical and/or electromechanical machining and testing operations
- Familiarity with machining operations: CNC, lathes, saws, grinders, etc.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field
- Ability to interpret manufacturing data
- Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings
- Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures
- Able to calculate equipment settings
- Skilled problem-solver: exercises judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedent
- Must have high levels of attention to detail and quality, be able to multitask and stay organized to lead activities of production cycle
- Able to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules operating/ manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including ability to clearly communicate instructions and provide training to employees
- Effective interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
- Self-directed work ethic
- Must demonstrate the ability to act professionally
- Basic math proficiency
- Proficient in English (reading, writing & verbal skills)
- Must be able to occasionally move about in production areas as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- A High School Diploma/Secondary Certificate or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
