About Us: The Immigration Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential legal services to low-income immigrant communities in central and southern Illinois. Our mission is to empower individuals in their journey to attain U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, work authorization, and family reunification. We support survivors of trauma and violence in their visa, asylum, and residency applications. Through outreach and educational programs, we aim to empower immigrant and non-immigrant communities alike.
Position Overview: The Grants Coordinator AmeriCorps VISTA plays a vital role in the management and coordination of grants that support our organization's work. As our organization grows, we are entrusted with an increasing number of grants, each with its unique reporting requirements. This position is dedicated to ensuring our grant-related activities are organized, deadlines are met, reporting processes are refined, and grant reports are filed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Assistant Data Coordinator and Executive Director to create an up-to-date grant calendar and data reporting guide to track grant deadlines and requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to various funders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting guidelines.
- Evaluate quantitative data related to program outcomes, identifying opportunities to improve data collection methods for increased accuracy and the breadth of collected data.
- Create a quarterly consolidated report for the Executive Director, Social Services Director, and Legal Director that combines program data, facilitating an easy understanding of the collective impact of all program activities.
- Collaborate with program staff to identify and track key performance indicators, establishing standardized measures for program performance evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in grant management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Transportation: VISTA members will report to our office from Monday through Friday. VISTAs may be required to travel outside of their daily commute to attend events, clinics, or outreach activities in various communities. While having a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle is preferred, it is not mandatory, as VISTA members often accompany staff members during travel. Service-related travel expenses can be reimbursed through the submission of a monthly reimbursement form.
Housing Assistance: We offer a $500/month additional housing stipend, which is allowable under VISTA regulations. This stipend is paid directly to the landlord or mortgage lender.
Application Process: If you are passionate about making a positive impact in immigrant communities and possess the required skills and qualifications, please apply by submitting your resume and a cover letter explaining your interest in the position and how your experience aligns with our organization's needs.
