Job purpose

The Director of IT will lead and oversee the technology strategy, infrastructure, and operations for the company. This onsite role will include managing technology initiatives, ensuring cybersecurity, supporting business processes, and leading a team of IT professionals. The IT Director will align IT goals with the Company’s strategic objectives, ensuring efficient operations across global manufacturing facilities.

Key duties and responsibilities

LMA

Leading:

a. Setting Vision and Direction: Leaders play a crucial role in translating IMMY’s vision into actionable strategies for their teams. They communicate the broader objectives and goals, ensuring team members understand and are aligned with the organizational vision.

b. Motivating and Inspiring: Effective managers inspire and motivate their teams, fostering a sense of purpose and belonging within the company. They encourage professional growth, set clear expectations, and lead by example to achieve the desired results.

c. Change Advocacy: Leaders must not only anticipate change but also champion it. This involves being forward-thinking and proactive in addressing industry shifts, technological advancements, and market dynamics.

Managing:

a. Planning and Organizing: Managers are responsible for organizing and planning tasks and projects. This involves breaking down larger goals into achievable tasks, setting timelines, and allocating resources effectively.

b. Empowerment and Delegating: Effective managers empower their team members by delegating authority and responsibility. This empowerment allows employees to make decisions, take risks, and contribute creatively to the organization’s objectives. They oversee the progress, provide guidance, and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently.

c. Effective Communication: Managers need to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.

Accountability:

a. Setting expectations: Managers establish clear expectations for their team members. They communicate what needs to be accomplished, outlining roles, responsibilities, and performance standards.

b. Monitoring Progress and Performance: Holding individuals accountable involves regular monitoring of progress and performance. Managers track performance against objectives, provide feedback, and address any issues that may hinder success.

c. Recognition and Feedback: Effective managers provide constructive feedback and recognition for good performance. They acknowledge achievements, support professional development, and address any underperformance through coaching or corrective actions.

Develop and Execute IT Strategy Aligned with Organizational Goals

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the company's manufacturing operations, business goals, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align IT initiatives with overall business strategy and objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Drive the adoption of Industry 4.0 principles, IoT, automation, and technologies across the organization.
  • Identify and implement innovative technologies to improve processes, increase productivity and operational efficiency, and enhance data-driven decision-making.

Oversee all IT Teams and Ensure Efficient Delivery of IT Services and Solutions

  • Oversee the structure and direction of the IT department, focusing on optimizing technology to ensure the delivery of dependable, high-performance IT services and solutions.
  • Ensure the security, integrity, performance, and reliability of the company's IT infrastructure and data across global sites.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of the global IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Oversee system upgrades, maintenance, and migrations to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure robust technical support is provided to all departments.
  • Address IT-related issues promptly to minimize impact on production and business activities.

Collaborate with the CFO to Align IT Investments

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align IT initiatives with financial objectives and priorities.
  • Manage relationships and negotiate contracts with key technology vendors, partners, and service providers.

Manage the IT Budget and Prioritize Initiatives Based on Strategic Importance

  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI and strategic investments in technology.
  • Evaluate cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and innovation.
  • Manage the selection and implementation of IT systems, including ERP, CRM, and other critical business applications.
  • Lead IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Lead the IT Leadership Team, Ensuring Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team supporting global operations, managing their performance, training, and professional development.
  • Foster a culture of customer-centric service, continuous learning, and improvement.
  • Manage IT staffing, training, and professional development.
  • Establish performance metrics and ensure accountability.
  • Oversee cybersecurity strategy and implementation, safeguarding the company's digital assets and intellectual property from internal and external threats.
  • Ensure all IT systems and processes comply with applicable global regulations (e.g., GDPR) and relevant industry standards (e.g., cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Regularly conduct risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Qualifications and Experience

Required Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 8 years of experience in IT leadership/management roles, preferably in the manufacturing sector
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience with manufacturing IT systems, including ERP (e.g. Infor, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics), MES, and Industry 4.0 technologies
  • Excellent project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing enterprise-wide IT initiatives
  • Experience in managing hybrid cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, IT security best practices, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience managing IT operations and infrastructure across multiple locations
  • Experience in implementing and managing Microsoft 365 across organizations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Preferred Qualifications include:
  • Experience with Infor Syteline, Hubspot CRM, and Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of Shingo and/or Lean principles and practices
  • Experience managing IT operations and infrastructure across multiple global locations
  • Experience in IT governance, risk management, and compliance in a global context
