Our machine building client in the Greater Grand Rapids, MI area is seeking a strong Controls Engineer for direct hire.This position will involve : Work with sales engineers to provide input with quote preparation as required.Interface with Project Engineers and customers in design reviews to establish control options and requirements.Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements Develop electrical design, schematics, and drawings in CADResearch supplier products for most efficient / cost-effective componentsDevelop electrical bill of materials.Troubleshoot issues with existing company installed systemsUnderstand client requirements for HMI / communication interface, networking and create specifications based on these requirementsTroubleshoot issues with existing company installed systemsWrite user manuals to communicate the functionality of company developed programs and schematicsDesign to a blend of customer and CGAF standardsMust be willing and able to travel and work at customer sites.Ensure quality standards are maintained in a highly regulated, process-driven environment.Help train / orient / bring up to speed new employeesFollow procedures written in our Quality Systems Manual.-Experienced position : 8 years relevant experience or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.-Certifications as necessary-PLC Programming experience, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Etc.-Maple Systems, Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric, HMI Programming experience. Proficient in AutoCAD electrical 2015 software.-Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Publisher. Familiar with UL 508A electrical standards.-Willing to pull wire and wire control systems to machinery.-Fanuc, ABB, Motoman robot experience.-Vision Systems, Keyence, Cognex, Teledyne Dalsa.
