SUMMARY
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for analyzing and optimizing the inventory, distribution and supply chain processes within the organization. This role involves data analysis, inventory management, logistics coordination, and performance monitoring to ensure efficient and cost-effective distribution of products. The analyst collaborates with cross functional teams to develop strategies that enhance distribution efficiency and support overall business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis:
- Analyze distribution data to identify trends, risks, problem solve through root cause analysis and make decisions.
- Use tools like SQL and Excel to perform data queries and generate reports.
Inventory Management:
- Track warehouse stock levels and product sales.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet demand without overstocking.
Logistics Coordination:
- Oversee logistics operations, including order verification, shipment monitoring, and coordination with logistics providers
- Facilitate transfers between distribution centers and stores.
Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
- Conduct audits of internal supply processes, and third-party operations.
- Adhere to strict deadlines, and quickly adjust to changes.
Collaboration:
- Work with cross-functional teams, including planning, sales and store operations, to develop and implement distribution strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field is typically required. Advance degree or Certifications (e.g., PMP, SAP, APICS) can be advantageous. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
SKILLS
- Advanced computer skills.
- Proficient in MRP/ERP Systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel).
- Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes.
- Ability to prioritize and move quickly between tasks.
- Able to work independently, or within a team environment.
- Planning and active participation of yearly inventory counts.
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in distribution, logistics or a related field experience with ERP systems and in inventory management software is preferred.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Provide technical support to field personnel regarding logistics and ordering systems. Develop and implement optimization strategies to improve distribution efficiency. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Any other duties as directed by leadership.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Performs basic database updates, queries and searches, and printing of documents.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate with co-workers and/or read instructions or written standards for production in English
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform or learn basic mathematic skills as needed, such as basic accounting terminology.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or limited variables.

Utilizing a powered industrial lift, the ability to move and maneuver finished goods pallets as needed.
