Principal Accountabilities
Process/Systems Support:
- Conduct in-depth reviews of RFQ (Request for Quotation) submissions from customers, with a focus on engineering feasibility and technical specifications
- Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback on customer-provided designs during the RFQ evaluation process, ensuring alignment with production capabilities
- Oversee and support the Engineering Documentation team, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of all engineering-related documentation
- Process Owner for Paperless Documentation Management System
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements within the Engineering Documentation workflow to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Process Owner for Stencil Procurement and Design Workflow
- ERP system Method of Manufacturing & Traveler creation and control
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to resolve documentation-related issues including any corrective actions
- Analyze the engineering section of contract reviews to verify compliance with technical specifications and project requirements
- Review and approve the panelization for PCB designs, ensuring optimization for manufacturing and performance
- Assess fixture requests and collaborate with suppliers to source or develop fixtures that meet design and operational criteria
- Design and create fixtures using CAD software and 3-D printing to aid production when requested
- Conduct technical analysis of termination plating specifications for electronic components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality requirements
- Create and maintain QMS procedures related to assigned areas of expertise
- Apply continuous improvement principles and actively seek opportunities to reduce waste and optimize processes
- Follow safety, ESD, and general shop floor guidelines when performing tasks
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, processes, and assembly specifications
- Working knowledge of applicable standards (e.g. J-STD-001, AS9100, NADCAP)
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with problem-solving techniques
- Proficiency in computer applications and systems
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics assembly
- Proven track record of process improvements and defect reduction initiatives
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement
- Experience with CheckPoint, CircuitCAM, or Aegis software
- Familiarity with Valor NPI or similar software tools
- Experience with Epicor ERP or comparable enterprise resource planning systems
- Demonstrated ability in team leadership and management
