DUTIES: Under the direction of the Program Director, LMHP, and CSAC-Resident Supervisor, CEO
and within the limitations of agency policy, the incumbent shall execute the following duties:
Candidates will provide supervision, modeling and coaching to Peers/ PRS employed by IMHS.
Peer Support Supervisors may also participate in leading support groups focused on recovery and/or
managing mental health symptoms. They will also teach individuals to build healthy social networks
through emotional, instrumental, informational, and affiliation types of peer support
Additionally, Peer Support Specialists are responsible for teaching and modeling the following to the peer
support staff:
1. Prepare and carry out Recovery, Resiliency and Wellness plan with individuals receiving
services.
2. Document case activity in accordance with program policy and maintain case records in
compliance with Agency
3. Assist clients in linking to community resources and developing support networks within the
community
4. Provide coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week with other professional staff
QUALIFICATIONS: Incumbent must be certified and in good standing by a DBHDS certifying body.
A PRS supervisor must have professionally qualified and trained to:
1. Provide collaborative services to assist client(s) in achieving sustained recovery from the
effects of mental health and/or substance abuse disorders
2. Provide peer support supervision to self-identified members who have been successful in the
recovery process with lived experience with substance abuse and/or mental health disorders
or the parent of a child with similar mental health and/or substance abuse concerns, and;
3. Offer support and assistance in helping others in the recovery and community-integration
process.
