What are the responsibilities and job description for the GIS Analyst position at Impact Solutions Inc?
What you will do:
- Complete project tasks related to GIS, database design and management, and data visualization.
- Perform GIS database evaluations and understand and implement GIS software versions and versioning schemas
- Communicate with project team members and other stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and desired outputs
- Provide training for members of the project team on the use of GIS tools
- Collaborate with GIS and support personnel including evaluating performance, assigning work schedules establishing project priorities and standards, provide technical support on project work
- Provide maintenance of existing GIS databases and websites
- Perform regular quality control checks of GIS data and non-spatial databases and ensure data integrity
- Provide coordination of internal GIS services
- Provide insight and support to the Real Estate Service department
- Participate in continuing education to stay at the forefront of industry standards
Your Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years of experience in GIS
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field preferred
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the ArcGIS software suite
- Knowledge of ArcGIS server a bonus
- Some knowledge of utility infrastructure preferred
- Proficient with standard Microsoft Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Good organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to prioritize competing tasks
