Position Description
Position Summary:
The Program Manager for Vocational Employment is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of vocational training and employment programs designed to assist individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment. This role involves strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and continuous improvement of program offerings to meet the needs of participants and align with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Management:
- Design and implement vocational training programs that prepare participants for employment.
- Manage day-to-day program operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance program offerings and employment opportunities for participants.
- Monitor program outcomes and implement improvements as necessary to meet objectives.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor staff involved in program delivery, including Employment Specialist, Job Coaches, trainers, and administrative personnel.
- Facilitate team meetings and provide ongoing support to staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Participant Engagement:
- Oversee the intake process for new participants, ensuring a smooth transition into the program.
- Ensure that participant’s needs are assessed accurately and that individualized employment plans are developed and implemented.
- Maintain regular communication with participants throughout their involvement in the program to ensure satisfaction and address any issues that arise.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with governmental agencies, non-profits, and private sector partners to secure funding, resources, and support for the program.
- Attend and present at conferences and workshops to raise awareness of the program and to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders to demonstrate program success and impact.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all program activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to vocational training and employment services.
- Develop and implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards of service and to meet accreditation requirements.
- Handle grievances and appeals according to established policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or 5 years experience Social Work, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Experience in program management, particularly in vocational training or employment services.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of disability employment services, workforce development, and relevant legislation.
- Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
