Description
The Maintenance supervisor will Provide general maintenance support to all work sites based on work orders received. Work sites are located in Columbia and Centralia. Custodians report to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Director of IT Services and Facilities.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Complete maintenance for office buildings in Columbia and Centralia in a prompt, efficient manner
- Inspect sites regularly to identify issues/ necessary maintenance
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules
- Supervise employed and contracted custodians to ensure that buildings are kept to a high standard of cleanliness
- Organize and oversee contracted work used for repairs for office buildings
- Maintain tool and cleaning supply inventories
- Maintain the grounds by picking up trash, pulling weeds, shoveling snow, coordinating lawn care and trimming bushes as needed.
- Serve on Health and Safety Committee.
- Support and ensure compliance with all agency policies, OSHA rules, and government oversight regulations
- Maintain digital records for maintenance performed or contracted
- Occasionally assist IT with low-voltage cabling needs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skills Required to perform the job:
- Familiarity with chemicals, supplies, and equipment used for cleaning
- Experience in preventative facility maintenance
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both in-person and electronic
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Associate/ Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Physical Requirements to perform the duties of the job:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or sit for several hours at a time
- Ability to stand on a ladder.
- Lifting and moving furniture and appliances are a regular component of this position
- Ability to bend, stoop, or perform other physical duties as required by the position
Licensing or other special certifications required:
- Take classes or trainings as required in cleaning methods and techniques and new products
- Class E Missouri Driver’s License and proof of valid vehicle insurance.
- Successfully pass background checks
- Complete annual trainings (Abuse & Neglect Prevention, CPR/First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and Blood Borne Pathogen)
