The company has two available positions: Full-time with benefits and Part-time with benefits.
Job Summary
To maintain the sterile field in the operating room, being constantly vigilant to see that proper aseptic techniques are utilized to prevent contamination and infection. Assist the surgical team as the sterile member who passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up the operating room before an operation and organize sterile tables with surgical instruments and equipment, sterile linens, and sterile solutions.
- Prepare gastroenterology rooms for procedures.
- Check, audit, and operate equipment such as lights, suction machines, electrosurgical units, diagnostic equipment, orthopedic, and endoscopy equipment.
- Perform decontamination, sterilization, and repackaging of supplies used throughout the hospital.
- Clean and restock the operating room and gastroenterology room.
- Order supplies.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program with eligibility to obtain certification is required.
- Sterile processing technician certification within one year of hire is required.
- Current certification or eligibility to become BLS certified.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under the stress of the operating room atmosphere and exhibit emotional maturity, stability, and flexibility.
