About the Role:
As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will spearhead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate product quality in our low volume, high mix manufacturing setting. Your expertise in lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies will be crucial in adapting these techniques to our dynamic production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify Improvement Opportunities: Analyze current processes to uncover areas for enhancement and develop strategies to boost efficiency and minimize waste.
- Implement Lean Principles: Apply lean manufacturing techniques such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, and Just-In-Time (JIT) production to streamline operations.
- Facilitate Continuous Improvement Projects: Lead cross-functional teams to execute continuous improvement projects, ensuring timely completion and measurable results.
- Data Analysis: Utilize statistical tools and data analysis to monitor process performance and identify trends or issues.
- Training and Development: Provide training and coaching to employees on continuous improvement methodologies and best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of improvement activities and report progress to management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to implement and sustain improvements.
- Problem Solving: Use root cause analysis and other problem-solving techniques to address production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Warehouse Layout Optimization: Develop and implement optimized bin location strategies and barcoded labeling processes to improve inventory management and workflow efficiency.
- Systems Management: Support the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of ERP, MES, and WMS systems to ensure accurate data capture and inventory tracking. Oversee the functionality and maintenance of barcode scanning systems, labeling printers, and other related technologies.
