Westcode, Inc. located in PA is seeking an Accounting Staff Specialist to join our finance team. The position requires a hardworking individual who enjoys meeting challenges. The ideal candidate will be capable of maintaining Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and providing financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts, including bank reconciliations, and preparing reports as needed. Sage experience is highly preferred, along with the requirement of high level of attention to detail.

In 1973, Westcode Incorporated was formed as a privately owned corporation in the state of Pennsylvania (USA) as the manufacturing base for Westinghouse Brake and Signal Co. of Chippenham, England; which was originally founded by George Westinghouse in 1881. From then until now Westcode has developed into a major supplier of both Air Conditioning and Door Systems to the Rail Transit industry in North America.
From its Pennsylvania headquarters, Westcode designs and manufactures its Door and HVAC products to meet the specification and requirements of all of the Major rail vehicle manufacturers with facilities in North America.
Over the years Westcode has been associated with larger groups such as Hawker Siddley, and British Tyre and Rubber, and is now part of the Unipart Group based in the UK. In 1996 Westcode and Mitsubishi signed an agreement providing for Westcode to manufacture Mitsubishi Air Conditioning equipment under license further expanding range of equipment available.
Over the years these associations have all assisted in developing what is today a youthful and energetic company which is able to draw upon over 100 years of experience in the rail industry.

Job Duties:
- Pay vendor invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; and obtaining authorization of payment.
- Obtain revenue by verifying transaction information; computing charges; preparing and mailing invoices; and identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
- Collect revenue by reminding delinquent accounts and notifying management of any issues.
- Process daily customer payments in the accounting system.
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts as requested.
- Reconcile bank account daily.
- Provides financial status information by preparing special reports, and completing special projects.
- Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation, and issuing stop payments or adjustments.
- Assists with monthly closings and preparing monthly/annual financial statements.
- Sage Information System experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred; Associate degree in Accounting with an internship or work/study program acceptable.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; and reading professional publications.
- Attendance - Attend work on the schedule established by the employer and without excessive absenteeism.
- Supervised by VP Finance/Controller.
- Interpersonal skills – the ability to communicate with Management, coworkers, customers, and vendors, professionally, and effectively is necessary for success.
- Flexibility – willing to work 40 hours when necessary; may be required to work overtime and on the weekend; may be asked to cross-train, or work in other financial areas.
