Job Summary :
Imprimis Group has partnered with a N. Dallas Law Firm specializing in probate, estate planning and real estate to find a legal assistant with experience in one or all these areas. This individual will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation.

Duties / Responsibilities :
Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
Drafts legal documents including interrogatories, files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures
Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys
Interviews with clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements
Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings
Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Proficient use of Hummingbird eDocs, ProDocs, eFiling, PACER, Westlaw and other online research sites required. Knowledge of additional computer software programs a plus (Excel, Trial Director, DISCO, Sanctions, Summation, PowerPoint, Coyote)
Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize (time management), thorough knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and legal calendaring also required
Education and Experience :
7 plus years of current paralegal experience preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or related field highly preferred
