Overview:
Improvix Technologies is seeking a AWS Cloud Engineer to support the Department of State's ADD CVS team in building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong DevOps experience, scripting proficiency, and cloud engineering expertise within AWS environments, with exposure to GCP and multi-cloud operations considered a bonus.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain functional scripts in PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate cloud infrastructure tasks
- Configure, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, with a focus on reliability and scalability
- Create and manage IAM policies and roles, ensuring proper access control and compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Leverage scripting for DevOps pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and configuration management
- Ensure adherence to established cloud governance and security practices
- Work with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) where necessary, including folder structure management and policy configuration
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and CI/CD-related issues
Basic Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance
- 5 years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Comfortable creating IAM policies, roles, and managing access structures
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Ability to jump into an established agile environment and contribute from day one
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AWS, AZURE or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or federal compliance frameworks
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools
- Experience working in federal environments or on government contracts
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Engineer, etc.)
