Overview:
Improvix Technologies is seeking a skilled Lead FOIA Project Manager to join our team supporting the Department of State's Information Programs and Services (IPA). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) programs and leading teams of FOIA analysts. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with FOIA regulations, managing complex requests, and overseeing the timely and accurate release of information.
Responsibilities:

Project Leadership: Lead a team of 5-6 FOIA analysts in managing and processing FOIA requests efficiently and effectively.

Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with FOIA regulations, policies, and procedures, guiding the team in adhering to federal guidelines.

Strategic Oversight: Develop and implement strategic plans for improving FOIA request processing times, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Quality Assurance: Review FOIA responses for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal requirements.

Stakeholder Management: Interface with DOS IPA leadership, legal teams, and other stakeholders to address complex FOIA issues and provide status updates.

Training and Development: Provide mentoring, training, and professional development opportunities to FOIA analysts to enhance their skills and performance.

Reporting and Metrics: Prepare regular reports and metrics on FOIA request status, processing times, and compliance metrics for management review.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Administration, Information Management, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience managing FOIA programs within a federal agency or contractor environment.

Strong understanding of FOIA regulations, exemptions, and best practices.

Proven leadership experience, including leading teams and managing projects from inception to completion.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Active Secret clearance or higher.
Preferred Skills:

Certification in FOIA or Information Governance.

Experience with FOIA processing software and electronic records management systems.
