Manufacturing Team Leader 3rd Shift (10:55 pm to 07:05 pm)
The Manufacturing Team Lead- Plastics is responsible for leading the technical and operational activities of the team to ensure efficient and high-quality production. This role combines technical expertise in injection molding and equipment maintenance with strong leadership and organizational skills to meet production goals, maintain safety standards, and uphold quality requirements
Responsibilities:
a) Technical:
•Perform preventive maintenance, machine set-ups, and changeovers on injection molding equipment.
•Troubleshoot and repair molding machines and related equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
•Operate and monitor injection molding machines to ensure optimal performance.
•Set tools and utilize overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
•Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards.
•Manage material handling processes, ensuring adherence to FIFO principles.
•Monitor production and maintain accurate production reporting.
•Ensure adherence to internal quality systems and escalate issues to the Manufacturing Manager as needed.
•Conduct daily measurements and audits as required.
•Participate in special projects or other assigned responsibilities to support departmental goals
b) Leadership and Team Coordination:
•Lead, guide, and support team members in daily operations, providing clear instructions and resolving challenges.
•Train and mentor operators and set-up technicians on technical tasks, safety protocols, and quality standards.
•Foster teamwork by assisting employees with complex tasks and promoting a collaborative work environment.
•Communicate effectively with the Manufacturing Manager and participate in cross-functional team meetings.
•Organize and delegate tasks to ensure the execution of production plans and logistic operations during shifts.
c) Continuous Improvement:
•Drive initiatives to improve production efficiency and reduce waste using Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
•Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements.
•Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety rules and policies.
Education requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or technical certificate in manufacturing or related fields preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with a preferred 1 year in a leadership role.
- Advanced knowledge of injection molding processes and equipment maintenance.
- Basic automation controls and robotics experience.
