JOB SUMMARY
The Inside Sales position helps grow revenue and profit for Industrial Municipal Supply Co., Inc., hereinafter referred to as IMSCO, by handling incoming communication with customers looking for pricing and information on material, equipment sales, equipment rentals, and technician services. This position will include all aspects of sales and service, such as assisting customers with quotes and procurement of materials needed for projects. The Inside Sales Department will also provide customers with technical information, equipment recommendations, or job site knowledge when quoting products, and sourcing material and equipment to ensure overall customer satisfaction. This position is critical as it is the core of generating information for all departments within IMSCOs organization. The Inside Sales team will be handling customer service in the sales department where the request is delegated to the warehouse for ordering / shipping and all documentation is sent to accounting for finalization. Completing sales orders properly and timely is of the utmost importance in this role. Communication is key to a great customer service experience, repeat business is paramount to ensure IMSCO will meet and exceed its yearly goals.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISORS : President / Chief Executive Sales Officer
WORKERS SUPERVISED : Technicians on projects managed
INTERRALTIONSHIPS : The Inside Salesman works as a member of a team to ensure that customers have a positive experience with IMSCO. This position works closely with other supporting sales team members (responsible for taking calls, receiving emails, quoting, converting quotes to sales orders, purchasing job specific material, setting up all inbound job specific freight, scheduling in-house fabrication projects, scheduling field work, and fusion equipment rental), the Shipping Team (responsible for ensuring orders are shipped out via preferred carriers), the Purchasing group (responsible for IMSCOs inventory), the Mechanic (responsible for equipment repair), the Fusion Technician (assigned to the in-house fabrication or field project), and Accounts Receivable (responsible for invoicing).
QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Highschool diploma or equivalent.
Training and Experience : Inside Sales or Customer Service experience in the HDPE industry is highly desirable for this critical position in sales and customer service. However, experience in other industries will be considered.
Abilities Required : Requires excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively (both written and verbal), maintains high attention to detail, has great organizational skills and exceptional negotiating skills. Must be able to establish and develop relationships with customers and vendors. Should be able to learn quickly, work at a rapid pace, multi-task, and respond to customers with a sense of urgency. Must have basic computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements for this position include but not limited to the following :
- Works in multiple settings both indoors and outdoors (including manufacturing, plant type settings). Exposure to various temperatures and conditions.
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
- Holding a handset to interact with customers or vendors for long periods of time.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. or more.
- Working in close proximity to fellow employees.
- Continuous computer data entry.
- Ability to communicate easily and effectively, including speaking and writing clearly.
