IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is actively recruiting a Reliability Engineer โ Fixed Equipment for our clientโs Ashtabula, Ohio plant. This is a key engineering role focused on ensuring the mechanical integrity and operational reliability of critical fixed assets and civil infrastructure.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to site leadership, the Reliability Engineer will drive plant reliability by planning and executing mechanical integrity programs that align with internal standards and regulatory requirements. Youโll serve as the siteโs Asset Engineer, responsible for asset condition oversight, inspection planning, and long-term equipment lifecycle strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
๐ง Engineering Standards & Compliance
- Maintain and apply plant mechanical and civil engineering standards.
- Interpret and enforce legal codes, design requirements, and inspection protocols.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies on equipment design/code matters.
- Maintain records for coded vessels and associated documentation.
๐ Mechanical Integrity Program Management
- Develop and lead programs to inspect and maintain critical fixed assets and protective systems.
- Define inspection frequencies and ensure effectiveness of regimens.
- Analyze inspection findings to implement improvements and mitigate future failures.
โ๏ธ Asset Performance & Lifecycle Management
- Lead preventative and predictive maintenance efforts across fixed equipment.
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to resolve recurring failures and recommend design upgrades.
- Conduct annual asset reviews to inform capital planning and extend asset life.
- Own the integrity and performance of fixed assets as the designated Asset Engineer.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 yearsโ experience in manufacturing; chemical plant experience is strongly preferred.
- At least 3 years in a reliability or mechanical integrity-focused role is ideal.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- In-depth knowledge of corrosion, erosion, failure modes, and relevant inspection techniques.
- Strong understanding of process safety and regulatory compliance.
- Experience applying mechanical integrity standards to improve plant safety, performance, and reliability.
