We are currently seeking an experienced community Maintenance Technician to join our service team for The Fields of New Durham and Fox Village communities near Westville, Indiana. Hourly pay will be commensurate with experience.
Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will assist in ensuring that the physical aspect and general maintenance of the property meets company standards and applicable laws. Our Maintenance Technicians help diagnose problems and make repairs in all areas including , electrical, plumbing, carpentry and appliances.
Job Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Grounds keeping and cleanliness on the premises
- Completes resident work orders
- Performs plumbing/mechanical/electrical repairs
- Wall/Drywall repairs
- Installs flooring, cabinetry, tub and surrounds where needed
- Prepares or rehabs vacant units for leasing
- Removes snow and spread salt on walkways and porches
- Shares On Call rotation
Skills:
- Extensive experience with HVAC, certification required
- Exposure to commercial water heaters, preferred
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and file management
- Ability to communicate with team members and vendors to complete tasks
All applicants must have their own basic tools, reliable transportation and availability to respond immediately to emergency "on call" repairs. Must be a "TEAM player", have the ability to work diligently and complete projects on time and without direct supervision. Must also have strong interpersonal skills. Be friendly, courteous, and comfortable dealing with difficult situations and personalities. Only applicants with maintenance experience will be considered.
