Position Summary:
The Accounting Operations Manager ensures that the financial processes which are critical to the daily operations of In-Place Machining Company are functioning smoothly. This role leads a “shared services” group that manages accounting processes – including payroll, employee expense reports, and accounts payable – for multiple business units. The accounting operations shared services function will expand in size and scope to support IPM’s growth over time.
Essential job duties include:
- Lead a team of 4-6 staff
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, including payroll, purchasing, and travel & expense
- Oversee accounts payable processes including vouchering, approvals, disbursements, and vendor master data management
- Provide software administration for payroll and travel & expense applications
- Ensure employees are trained on the proper use of payroll, timekeeping, and travel & expense applications
- Participate in the integration of newly acquired businesses
Requirements
Successful candidates should possess:
- 10 years of relevant operational accounting experience; a background in services, construction, or manufacturing is preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing payroll for an organization with both hourly and salaried employees and complex pay rules
- Customer service mentality - responsive to employees’ and suppliers’ inquiries and resolves problems with a sense of urgency
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to operate across multiple business applications, including multiple accounting systems
- Software application skills, including strong familiarity with payroll, timekeeping, accounting, and travel & expense applications, as well as Microsoft Office
- A desire to continuously improve processes to help achieve company goals
