Front Office Medical Biller and Receptionist
Duties :
- Scheduling and registering patients.
- Answering multi-line phone system and professionally addressing patient calls / concern
- Front desk duties including checking patients in and out.
- Obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations as required for procedures.
- Collecting payments and checking insurance eligibility and benefits verification for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures.
- Organizing and submitting medical records.
- Setting up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.
- Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.
- Assisting medical assistants to room patients as needed.
- Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtaining any missing information.
- Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary.
- Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
- Reviewing accounts for insurance of patient follow-up.
- Researching denied claims.
- Updating billing software with rate changes.
- Updating cash spreadsheets, and running collection reports.
