About the Role

The VP of Engineering will be a people leader who inspires and mentors engineers while staying close to the technical details. They will drive the development of scalable blockchain architectures, decentralized protocols, and token-based systems, while fostering a high-performance engineering culture. Reporting directly to the executive team, the VP will set the technical vision, ensure security and scalability across platforms, and build a team ready to tackle the unique challenges of blockchain and Web3 technologies.

Key Responsibilities

🚀 Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute technical roadmaps aligned with product and business goals.
• Drive architectural decisions for scalable and secure blockchain systems.
• Balance platform stability with feature delivery and innovation.
• Advocate for best practices in decentralized technology design and implementation.

👥 Team Leadership

• Build and scale high-performing engineering teams across distributed and on-site environments.
• Mentor engineering leaders and individual contributors, fostering growth and accountability.
• Create clear success metrics and career pathways for engineering talent.
• Foster a collaborative culture that emphasizes transparency, continuous learning, and innovation.

🔗 Technical Direction

• Oversee the development of blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and decentralized infrastructure.
• Ensure robust security standards for blockchain implementations and smart contracts.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, system reliability, and scalability.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends in blockchain (e.g., Ethereum roadmap, L2 scaling solutions, DeFi protocols, and tokenomics).
• Balance hands-on contributions with high-level technical oversight when needed.

Key Requirements

🛠️ Leadership Experience:

• 10 years of engineering experience, with 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven ability to scale teams and mentor technical leaders.
• Track record of managing and growing technical teams in blockchain or fintech sectors.
• Experience leading both remote and on-site engineering teams.
• Strong history of recruiting and retaining top engineering talent.

🌐 Blockchain Expertise:

• Deep understanding of blockchain protocols, including both EVM-compatible and non-EVM chains (e.g., Cosmos, Solana).
• Proficiency in smart contract development (Solidity, Rust).
• Familiarity with token standards (ERC20, ERC721, ERC4337) and decentralized finance (DeFi) frameworks.
• Experience with distributed systems architecture and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Knowledge of data streaming tools (e.g., Kafka, Redis) and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Strong grasp of security best practices for financial and blockchain systems.
