This position requires experience with accounting for employee benefits and payroll liabilities, working with systems that integrate with accounting, and building reports, and attention to detail.
10-20 hours per month will be focused on HR tasks such as work visa administration and hospitality management.

Accounting tasks
- Maintain accounting reports in payroll/HR system and reconcile payroll liabilities
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
- Coordinate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate employee data.
- Additional accounting tasks/projects to be assigned as needed
- Work Visa administration – currently outsourced, once a year
- Hospitality management – travel, lunches
- Assist with maintaining documentation of employee benefits practices and procedures for both accounting and HR.
- Maintain documentation of monthly reconciliation work
- Provide support for internal and external audits.
- Assist with troubleshooting payroll software and systems
- Assist with implementing and maintaining payroll policies and procedures.
- When employees have payroll-related inquiries or discrepancies, the Payroll and Accounting Specialist collaborates with HR to resolve these issues promptly. HR addresses the employee’s concerns, while the specialist investigates and corrects any payroll errors.
- Prepares payroll reports that HR uses for workforce planning, budgeting, and compliance reporting. These reports include information on wages, overtime, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- HR develops and communicates policies related to compensation, benefits, and leave. The Payroll and Accounting Analyst ensures these policies are correctly implemented in the payroll system and reflected in employee paychecks.
