Civil Designer

Compensation: $29-38/hr

Location: Wallingford, CT

Position: Civil Designer

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Civil Designer to join their team! This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to diverse civil engineering projects. The selected candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and development of various infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic environment. This position offers hands-on experience in civil design and the opportunity to develop expertise in site planning, storm drainage systems, and utility design.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and planning of civil projects, including land development, roadways, drainage systems, stormwater management, and utility networks.
• Support project teams by preparing technical drawings, conducting calculations, and refining design layouts for various infrastructure components.
• Utilize industry-standard software to develop plans, analyze data, and interpret design specifications.
• Review topographical and geotechnical reports to assist in decision-making for site development.
• Create and modify technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
• Maintain project documentation, version control, and organized records of design revisions.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 4 years of related experience (may be substituted with education)
• Basic proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel.
• Understanding of design, calculations, and civil engineering principles.
• Knowledge of civil discipline theories and practices, as well as related discipline software applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with project managers, engineers, and designers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
  
  

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with land development, transportation, and utility projects.
• Exposure to sediment and erosion control, traffic control, and environmental planning.
• Familiarity with geotechnical analysis and construction documentation preparation.
