Overview
The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead operational excellence by implementing and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Continuous Improvement Manager will plan, organize, and apply continuous improvement methods such as pull loops to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This hands-on, collaborative position focuses on building support for change, fostering a lean culture, and coaching teams to drive sustainable improvements. In this role you would have two direct reports and travel between Rochester and PA.
Duties
- Lead and drive lean transformation initiatives to establish world-class, visually managed processes that identify and eliminate waste.
- Implement CI/Lean methodologies to align with strategic goals and improve overall performance.
- Facilitate lean training programs, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives while coaching teams to strengthen lean competencies.
- Act as a change facilitator by collaborating with site leaders and lean champions to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage sustainable lean action plans and oversee key projects to enhance efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost using lean problem-solving methodologies.
- Track, measure, and report progress on improvements using established KPIs.
- Establish and monitor core lean systems such as SQDC, 5S, Standard Work, and Leader Standard Work to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial reporting related to lean improvements, waste reduction, and ROI.
- Organize and facilitate the site Lean Steering Committee.
- Stay updated on industry best practices through benchmarking and continuous learning.
- Hire, train, develop, and mentor team members as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- 8 years of experience in Lean or Continuous Improvement leadership roles
- Experience with leadership and supervision
- Experience implementing pull loops, controlled markets, timed delivery routes, PFEP, etc.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of lean tools and Toyota Production System methodologies, including A3 Development, Process Flow Mapping, Value Stream Mapping, 5S/Visual Factory, TPM, QCO-SMED, Standard Work, Problem Solving, Built-In Quality, Just-In-Time, Kaizen, Hoshin Kanri (SDP X Matrix), and Lean ROI.
- Ability to integrate safety, ergonomics, and 5S principles into continuous improvement and lean practices.
- Ability to manage priorities for limited multi-site responsibility.r.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
