Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. The DSP plays a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. This position requires a patient individual who is committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve.
Duties
- Provide direct support to individuals in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Assist residents with their personal goals and encourage participation in community activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by monitoring their physical and emotional needs.
- Advocate for resident rights and promote dignity and respect in all interactions.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's unique needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and any changes in resident status.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to patient care, CPR, memory care, and other relevant areas.
Requirements
- Previous experience in direct support or assisted living environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and meal preparation.
- Understanding of resident rights and the importance of advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals on the autism spectrum and those with various developmental challenges.
- Certification in CPR is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on empathetic interaction.
- Ability to work as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative in supporting residents’ needs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the needs of the residents.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
