Independent Software, Inc. is hiring: Technical Writer in Ellicott City

What you will be doing!

As a Technical Writer, the candidate will research, prepare, and edit technical documents. This includes assisting in researching, writing, editing, and proofreading technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, and specifications to provide clients with information regarding technical areas in a less technical way. The candidate will interview programmers, engineers, developers, and other technical personnel. They will read previous documentation and design notes and use computer-based training or company technical products to gather and research technical information for documentation. The role also involves writing, organizing, entering, and compiling online help files to support end users. Additionally, the candidate will create, compile, and deliver system / software developmental documentation packages including narratives, logic diagrams, input and output samples, input preparation instructions, job setup information, etc., from technical project team inputs, system requirements analysis, system design specifications, technical system design, technical procedure development, configuration control requirements, test and training specifications, and programming notes.

Requirements

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
• Problem-solving abilities

Education And Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience, or a bachelor's degree with no experience required.

Clearance Required : Must possess an active TS / SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
