Indian Creek School is an independent, co-ed day school in which 600 students aged 3 to Grade 12 partner with innovative teachers in an outstanding educational program. This is a full-time (40 hours), 10-month position with occasional summer responsibilities, reporting to the Assistant Head of School and Lower School Principal.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement classroom music curriculum for grades 4 and 5 students, including the use of Conversational Solfege and Orff instruments and pedagogy.
- Plan and implement the Lower School Drama curriculum, producing annual mini-productions for Grades 1 – 4 and a full-length production in Grade 5.
- Teach and lead the Middle School Chorus program.
- Teach one Upper School Performing Arts elective.
- Direct the Middle School Musical and share production responsibilities with the Stage Director.
- Attend and assist in all Performing Arts performances and events.
- Plan, prepare and execute concerts and productions for grade levels and ensembles taught.
- Use pedagogical best practices, learning standards, and assessments to drive student growth and achievement in the Performing Arts.
- Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community utilizing best practices in social-emotional learning and culturally responsive teaching.
- Develop and maintain a strong collaborative relationship with colleagues to foster a well-rounded performing arts experience for each student.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Work with the Director of Performing Arts and the Lower School Principal to ensure high-quality education and the most engaging student experience.
- Maintain confidentiality with student information and records.
- Actively engage in the work of innovative teaching, diversity and inclusion, and ongoing professional growth.
- Actively participate in a professional learning community, including reading and being familiar with relevant professional literature and research, participating in peer coaching, reflection meetings, planning meetings, and staff meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Performing Arts coursework, leading ensembles, piano proficiency, conducting ensembles and stage productions
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in classroom management
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other faculty members
- Demonstrated commitment to belonging, well-being, and inclusive pedagogy
- Proficiency in integrating educational technology into instruction
- Educational philosophy which aligns with the mission and vision of Indian Creek School

Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's years of experience at an educational institution and prior administrative experience and responsibilities. Candidates will be offered a competitive salary and are exempt from overtime within the range of $55,000 - $95,000, dependent on experience.

Salary : $55,000 - $95,000
