What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Services Technician position at Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club?
This hands-on role is responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across the Club’s facilities—ensuring everything runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. As a key member of our team, the Building Services Technician plays a vital part in the daily operations and overall member experience. Bonus: this role also serves as the Dock Master, welcoming members and guests to the marina and ensuring smooth sailing from land to water!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Schedules and performs routine maintenance for club facilities (basic mechanical (dry wall, trim, paint, etc.), electrical & plumbing)
2. Procures parts and items needed for maintenance, completion of work orders, and general maintenance supplies.
3. Attends staff meetings and coordinates work around the club schedule work activities.
4. Coordinates arrivals and check-in of marina Slipholders and guests.
5. Oversees daily water checks on swimming and wading pool, checking filtering system for positive health protection; supervises maintenance of pool facilities.
6. Controls key systems.
7. Works with planners and coordinates remodeling of club areas.
8. Maintains ongoing energy management program for the property
9. Assists in checking fire protection systems for proper operation and training personnel for usage.
10. Manages the club’s preventive maintenance program for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, elevators, and all club buildings.
11. Maintains a log for equipment repairs.
12. Serves as a liaison between club and regulatory agencies including health and safety inspections and city building department.
13. Suggests cost-saving alternatives applicable to maintenance and engineering responsibilities.
14. Conducts periodic inspections of engineering-related facilities.
15. Interacts with outside contractors.
16. Helps develop short- and long-term requirements for repair and maintenance, capital replacement and capital requirements.
17. Schedules or responds to maintenance requests for club managers or crew members.
18. Develops and monitors maintenance checklists.
19. Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies.
20. Assures that OSHA work requirements are met and that MSDSs are available.
21. Completes other appropriate tasks assigned by the General Manager.
